ROG Phone 9 Pro remains ASUS's most complete gaming phone and its current flagship option in 2026. Snapdragon 8 Elite powers the device, while the GameCool 9 thermal system is designed to maintain performance during long competitive sessions rather than deliver only short benchmark bursts.
The 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED display can reach 185Hz in supported gaming modes, with a 720Hz touch sampling rate. Ultrasonic AirTrigger controls add two programmable shoulder inputs, making shooters, racing games, and action titles feel closer to a handheld console.
A 5,800mAh battery supports fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The optional AeroActive Cooler X Pro adds active cooling, physical buttons, a kickstand, and a subwoofer, but it increases the total price and bulk of the gaming setup.
AniMe Vision gives the rear panel 648 programmable mini-LEDs, while IP68 protection makes the phone more practical outside gaming. Buyers should note that ASUS has no new phone model planned for 2026, so the ROG Phone 9 Pro is mature hardware rather than a newly launched generation.
