iOS 27 is less about another visual reset and more about making Apple Intelligence genuinely useful. Siri AI can understand personal context across messages, email, and photos, respond to onscreen content, maintain conversations, and perform actions across supported apps.

The release also improves intelligent photo editing, Shortcuts, parental controls, and everyday responsiveness. Much of the processing stays on the device, with Private Cloud Compute used for larger requests. That privacy model is a meaningful advantage, although some server-based features have usage limits.

Availability is the main complication. Siri AI begins as an English beta, more languages follow later, and several features are restricted by device or region. Apple Intelligence requires supported hardware, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 or later, iPhone Air, and iPhone Duo. Back up before updating and verify that the features you want are available in your language and country.
