The 2026 iPad Air moves to the M4 chip and remains the easiest iPad to recommend. It is available with an 11-inch display for portability or a 13-inch display for multitasking, drawing, and media, without the cost of the OLED iPad Pro.

M4 provides more than enough performance for study, office work, illustration, gaming, photo editing, and most video projects. The Air supports Apple Pencil Pro, Magic Keyboard, Apple Intelligence, and Wi-Fi 7, with 12MP front and rear cameras and familiar all-day battery life.

The display remains a 60Hz Liquid Retina LCD, which is the clearest difference from the smoother and higher-contrast iPad Pro. Accessories also increase the real purchase price. Choose 11 inches for travel and handheld use; choose 13 inches when screen area matters more than weight. For most buyers, either Air delivers a better performance-to-price balance than the Pro.
