iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable and the most significant change to the iPhone shape in years. It opens to a 7.6-inch inner display and closes around a 5.4-inch outer display, both with ProMotion, Always-On capability, and high outdoor brightness.

iOS 27 adapts controls to the side, supports two apps in Split View, allows two windows from the same app, and saves app pairs. A20 Pro and a vapor chamber power the two displays, while the folding body enables hands-free calls, rear-camera selfies, and previews for the person being photographed.

The $1,999 starting price, first-generation hinge, flexible inner screen, and eSIM-only design demand caution. Apple says availability begins October 23, 2026, so durability and long-term battery behavior still require independent testing. It is exciting for multitasking and media, but conventional iPhones remain safer and less expensive choices.
