Samsung redesigned the Galaxy Z Fold8 around a wider, more familiar shape. The 5.5-inch cover display uses a 10:16 ratio, while the 7.6-inch inner screen opens to a 4:3 canvas that better suits reading, editing, and side-by-side apps.

At 201 grams, Samsung calls it the lightest Galaxy Z Fold to date. That reduction matters because a book-style foldable must remain comfortable when closed as well as useful when open. The wider cover screen should also reduce the need to unfold the device for routine messages and navigation.

A 4,800mAh battery is rated for more than 26 hours of video playback under Samsung's testing. Galaxy AI and One UI provide the software layer for summarizing, searching, editing, and multitasking, although specific AI functions can depend on language, region, account, and network access.

Fold8 is the more balanced choice beside the larger Ultra. It preserves the core foldable experience in a lighter body, but buyers should compare camera needs, storage, repair protection, and local launch offers before deciding between the two models.
