Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra reduces the usual camera compromise of a foldable by using a 200MP wide camera and an upgraded 50MP ultrawide. The main sensor offers substantial crop headroom, while the ultrawide is better suited to landscapes, architecture, groups, and close creative angles.

The folding design creates practical photography advantages. The large inner display provides a spacious preview for checking focus and composition, and the device can stand partially folded for steady group shots, time-lapses, or video calls without a separate tripod.

A high-resolution sensor cannot remove every foldable limitation. Camera hardware must share space with hinges, displays, and a thin body, while the unfolded device is less convenient for quick one-handed shooting than a conventional slab phone. Large 200MP files also consume storage quickly.

Fold8 Ultra is most compelling for users who value capture and editing on the same device. It is not automatically a replacement for the S26 Ultra's complete zoom system, but it is one of the strongest choices when a large viewfinder and flexible shooting positions matter.
