Xiaomi 17 Ultra has one of the most ambitious camera systems of 2026. Its 50MP one-inch Light Fusion 1050L main sensor uses LOFIC technology and a bright 23mm f/1.67 lens, prioritizing light collection and dynamic range rather than a 200MP badge on the primary camera.
The headline component is the Leica 200MP telephoto. Its mechanical continuous optical zoom covers 75mm to 100mm, offering real compositional flexibility for portraits, events, and details without jumping between separate fixed lenses. Optical stabilization and Leica APO certification support that hardware.
A 50MP 14mm ultrawide completes the rear system, while the main and telephoto cameras can record Dolby Vision or ACES Log at up to 4K120 in supported modes. Those formats are valuable only when the user has the storage and editing workflow to handle them.
The large camera module and premium pricing will not suit everyone. For photographers who understand focal length, exposure, and color grading, however, Xiaomi 17 Ultra offers more meaningful camera hardware than a simple resolution comparison suggests.
